Hypnotherapy Warrington.

There are many people throughout the UK, who suffer daily with their emotional well-being, and gradually, it has become OK to talk about these things. If you were off work with a broken wrist for example, it would be perfectly acceptable to bring it up in conversation. However, in the past, it was different from being off work with stress, anxiety or depression, but we are now opening up to these affairs of the mind and the stigma is slowly being removed.

Your conditions and problems needn’t define who you are as a person but it is more common place now for people to feel the stresses from work or the anxiety and depression of living in difficult times. But there is help available! For hypnotherapy warrington please read on.

It is so important to repeat that help is only a phone call away!

I am a compassionate, professional and ethical hypnotherapist and psychotherapist working from my private and confidential office in Warrington. I offer a one to one service, group sessions and services for businesses. I will give you time to talk through your issues with a friendly approach, where you are made to feel welcome and understood in a safe and comfortable environment, and where you are never judged, but always listened to.

Warrington is very central in the North west and is only 30 minutes away, by car, from Manchester and Liverpool. In fact I see many people from all over the North west.

It is never too late to work through your problems and speaking to a therapist is sometimes so much easier than speaking to a family member, friend or colleague. And very often my clients feel so much better after the consultation because they have expressed themselves in such a way as to release a lot of pent-up emotion.

Hypnotherapy Warrington

I offer the following services:

Hypnotherapy

Hypnosis is effectively an altered state of awareness in which we can tap into unconscious thinking and behaviours. In the mind it is a little like daydreaming where the mind is relaxed but actually very focused. The body is very relaxed and is a little like the feeling you have the moment you wake up in the morning or the moment just before you go to sleep. Hypnotherapy is the therapeutic intervention I use whilst you are in an altered state of awareness.

It’s nothing new and dates back to the Egyptian era where they uses ‘suggestion’ in a healing way in temples designed to promote health. Hypnosis does not mean you are asleep! Even though the name hypnosis comes from the Greek God ‘Hypnos’ the God of sleep. If anything, it is the complete opposite of sleep. The theory behind hypnotherapy is that our unconscious mind holds onto all our life’s experience and feeds through our emotions, and influences our mood.

Something that happened to you many years ago, normally during childhood, still has a reference in the unconscious so we can work with this. However. there is also situational problems in life, that have nothing to do with childhood. This is the flexibility of hypnosis. We can apply it to any situation that involves your feelings. It’s about restructuring at an unconscious level, the way the mind operates. Seeing as hypnosis is a natural state of mind, it can be easily induced by the individual, self-hypnosis for example.

Or the individual can be gently guided into the altered state by a hypnotherapist or hypnotist. It is a voluntary state of mind.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy is quite difficult to define. effectively there are many different schools of therapy, CBT, Gestalt, Psycho-analysis for example, but they all aim to help an individual with their problems in life and return them to a more beneficial and helpful way of functioning.

In most psychotherapies, the problem is treated through communication between the client and the therapist, and it is important to point out that the relationship or alliance between you and the therapist be a strong one so that it is easier to talk through your personal problems without feeling judged. Most psychotherapies use some sort of intervention using tested techniques to help you challenge the way you think and behave, to form new and more positive ways of thinking, which then effects our mood in such a way that we begin to see things differently. However, I also use CBT techniques to help smokers to stop smoking. That’s the universal approach that I offer.

CBT

CBT is the acronym for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and was created by Aaron Beck and Albert Ellis and is a psychotherpy treatment that helps the client better undertsand their thought’s and feelings that impact upon the way they behave.

CBT is quite universal but is commonly used to treat anxiety, phobias, addiction and depression. In fact it is the treatment of choice within the NHS because it is seen as a relatively brief therapy. I use it both in hypnosis and out of hypnosis as it is very flexible.

NLP

NLP stands for Neuro Linguistic Programming and was created by Richard Bandler and John Grinder. It is an eclectic mix of techniques, some modified existing techniques and some new, to help the individual re-frame the way they think in order to achieve excellence. It has been used by a lot of gold medal Olympians and successful business people. It comprises of these three parts:

Neuro – the mind – how we think, feel and imagine.

Linguistic – language – speaking, written, unwritten.

Programming – the technical side of how to influence the mind through language.

There is also the famed Fast Phobia cure that is a revised version of something Milton Erickson (The modern grandfather of Hypnosis) had created using visualisation and then reversing the memory of a bad event to give it a new and dissociative meaning, thus releasing the fear associated with an event.

EFT

EFT stands for ‘Emotional Freedom Technique’ and was developed from ‘Thought Field Therapy’ and has the individual tap their fingers on certain points around the head, face neck and hands and is used to relieve negative emotions. It can be an amazing technique, and when used in conjunction with Hypnosis, NLP and CBT can really help you control your problems.

To be honest, I still don’t know how it works and if you search the internet for how EFT works, you will find that there is no real explanation. However, it does work and can be very liberating for the individual.
